Back in early June my husband and I took a one week vacation down to the Jersey Shore. We have a beautiful condo in North Wildwood and go down a few times every year. We are very fortunate that we only live 3 1/2 hours from the Atlantic Coast so it's usually a very nice drive for us from central Pennsylvania.
When we were down in early June, we took a walk up to a secluded area of the beach in North Wildwood (behind the Hereford Inlet Lighthouse) and watched a shark get stuck on the beach. He came in on a big wave and got marooned there. Within a few minutes, 4 seagulls were guarding him and were hoping he would expire. He didn't and they got inpatient waiting for him to expire so they (the seagulls) killed him and enjoyed him for dinner.
We stood there with another couple who happened to be on the beach and watched the entire thing. Those seagulls were pretty agressive towards anyone who was standing there. This was their "meal" of the year and they were not letting it go!
Enjoy our travel photo of the week!
