Back in early September we took the entire family down to Wildwood NJ for our annual family vacation. We had a lot of fun seeing the various sites around Wildwood and Cape May. We are really looking forward to returning again in May of 2014 to see even more!
We took a day trip from Wildwood down to
Cape May and spent the afternoon and evening on
Sunset Beach. We took a walk through the Nature Conservancy (totally free nature park with walking trails), checked out the World War II Bunker on the beach, toured the World War II Lookout Tower at Sunset Beach, checked out the sunken concrete ship which lays just offshore, shopped a few stores and finally finished up by playing a round of mini golf!
The entire family played miniature golf on Sunset Beach and we had a fabulous time! I believe we paid $7.00 or $7.50 per person and it's an 18-hole mini golf course. Most of the holes are challenging but there were one or two that were fairly easy. The course is laid out beautifully and you can get some scenic views of the ocean and surrounding areas.
This was the first time that our 4 1/2 year old grand daughter has ever played mini golf and she had a lot of fun learning the game and playing it! It was one of our best highlights of the trip to see her smile, laugh and have a good time with all of us!
There were 6 of playing, including 1 small child so it did take us over an hour to get through the course. Trust me though, we were taking our good old time. Last year when hubby and I just played, it took us less than 30 minutes but we always go during their "less" busier times so we can get through it quickly.
This is definitely our favorite miniature golf course in the South Jersey area. Yes, you have a lot of mini golf choices in Wildwood and Cape May...but this course is our favorite one! The scenic views are beautiful, the well-landscaped course is super fun to play and frankly...it's affordable too!
Once you are done playing mini golf...you can shop one of the few stores that sit right on Sunset Beach and/or you can grab a bite to eat or something to drink at the Sunset Beach Grill. While their food isn't the best I have ever had, it's really not bad for a quick lunch or snack...although some items are pricey.
You can find out more by visiting the
Sunset Beach website to get a list of businesses, activities, hours of operation and more. We highly recommend that you spend a few hours there if you are visiting the area for vacation. Enjoy!
