One of the things that Wildwood is known for is their "Famous" Tram Car. This Sightseer Tram Car (boardwalk train) runs up and down the boardwalk all season long. With that said, it's not free! It will cost you $3.00 per person each way. So, if you take a round trip up and down the boardwalk, it will cost each person $6.00 which I think is a little steep, especially if you are travel with family!
Kids love riding the Tram Car and you can find several shops up on the boardwalk that sell Tram Car souvenirs although in my opinion, they are pretty pricey but the kids love them! We took our 4 1/2 year old grand daughter on a one-way ride on the Tram Car and she was in her glory calling it the "boardwalk" train. It was worth the smiles and enjoyment that she received by taking a ride on it.
The Tram Car is only in operation during the "in-season" and it doesn't run at all during the off season or during bad weather and/or storms. If you are handicap or have a hard time walking long distances, the Tram Car is a great way to get up and down the Wildwood boardwalk.
