The Old Sled Works Antique and Craft Market
The Old Sled Works Antique and Craft Market is located in Duncannon Pennsylvania. The building was owned by the old Lightning Glider Sled Company who started using it in 1908 to manufacture their famous Lightning Glider Sleds. The business officially closed in 1990 and in 1991 the building was re-opened and now houses the Old Sled Works Antique & Craft Market.
From the outside it doesn't look like much. However, once you go indoors you will find over 125 antique and craft dealers inside along with an old-time penny arcade, soda fountain and the building houses the sled museum. They are always looking for and accepting new vendors too!
If you're in the Duncannon area or in Perry County, Pennsylvania on New Year's Eve you can stop by the Old Sled Works Antique and Craft Market to see their annual New Year's Eve Sled Drop and celebration. Depending on the weather, they can get a nice crowd and everyone is friendly. A fun event that the entire family can enjoy on New Year's Eve.
We love to go up there about twice a year to do some shopping, mainly shopping for handcrafted home decor products for our home or to give as gifts. When we do visit...we like to get milkshakes at the Soda Fountain and just spend a couple of hours browsing around. When we are done shopping, we head on over to the Red Rabbit Drive-in Restaurant and grab a few bunny burgers to take home.
The Old Sled Works is located at 722 Market Street (one of the main drags through Duncannon) and there is plenty of free parking available. They are open Wednesday through Sunday from 10am to 5pm. If you are in the area and passing through...we suggest you stop in for a visit and check out this historical old building and do a little shopping.
