Imagine your own private retreat in a quiet neck of the woods, to kick back and simply enjoy. Barnhaven, a creatively salvaged and uniquely renovated barn located in the Allegheny National Forest region, offers just that and more.

Unplug from daily demands and reconnect with the land and sky--we offer a rural respite both indoors and out. Barnhaven is the perfect home base for exploring the area (also known as the PA Wilds), or we can be the actual Destination--simply curl up with a book, get cozy, reconnect with family and friends over games and home-cooked meals, view the wildlife just outside the window, and forget the stresses of the outside world. You won’t want to leave!

We are also an ideal location for intimate retreats and/or workshops for writers, artists, photographers, musicians, stargazers, yogis, and other specialized interest groups.

Both the barn and the lawn are available for overnight or single-day events such as weddings, showers, private parties, and reunions.

We sleep 6 comfortably, with three bedrooms and two baths, as well as a fully-accessorized kitchen, living room, book-lined study, and central foyer. The indoor architectural centerpiece is a catwalk beneath the cathedral ceiling, while outdoors, seating on the deck or patio offers stellar views of local wildlife and the darkest of night skies.

Remember lawn games? We have croquet, bocce, boules, frisbee, softball, and touch football, as well as board games and ping pong. Nearby outdoor activities include hiking, fishing, canoeing and kayaking, horseback riding, birdwatching, berry-picking, and geo-caching.

Reclaimed from the ancestral family farm, Barnhaven is full of centuries-old artifacts, rescued and refurbished, adding to the personal history and texture of this one-of-a-kind vacation getaway and event locale. You won’t be bored here, we promise!

Located in McKean County’s village of Clermont, just four miles off Pennsylvania’s scenic Route 6 near Smethport, we are 30 minutes’ drive from Bradford Regional Airport with new connections to Pittsburgh via Sun Air.
