The Maryland Zoo is located in Baltimore and is one of the best zoos in the area. The zoo is home to over 1,500 wild animals. When you visit you'll find animals that are native to North America and other areas from around the world.
The zoo is open year round but their hours vary depending on the season. From March through December they are open daily from 10 AM to 4 PM. January and February they are open Friday through Monday from 10 AM to 4 PM. They are closed on major holidays.
Admission prices range from $18.00 for adults to $13.00 for children, discounts given for Seniors and members of the military. You can buy your tickets online to save time or at the gate. They also have an option where you can become a member of the zoo which gives you a season pass for unlimited visits and other perks.
You will find The Maryland Zoo located in the gorgeous Druid Hill Park district which is less than 10 minutes from downtown Inner Harbor. There is plenty of free parking available, although you may need to do some walking on very busy & crowded days.
To make your visit easier I do suggest that you print out and view their online park map. You can plan out ahead of time of the things you want to see and do while visiting the zoo. The park map is totally free for you to print and you can find it located
HERE.

We live in south central Pennsylvania so it takes us less than 2 hours to drive to The Maryland Zoo. We love to make it a family day and round up the grandchildren, nieces and nephews and all head to the zoo for an afternoon of fun & family bonding.
If you are looking for a family-friendly activity to do in the Maryland, New Jersey or Pennsylvania area...we highly recommend visiting
