Pride of the Susquehanna Riverboat

When visiting the city of Harrisburg during the late spring, summer or early fall season you will find hundreds of different local things to see and do. One of these activities that draws thousands of visitors every year is a boat ride on the Pride of the Susquehanna Riverboat.

The Pride of the Susquehanna Riverboat offers public sightseeing tours, dinner cruises, food and beverage tastings, live music and entertainment, educational programs and even fall foliage cruises during the autumn season.

The riverboat docks on the famous city island in Harrisburg Pennsylvania. You will want to park on city island which is located just off of the Market Street Bridge. Once you have parked, follow the riverboat signs until you reach the dock. It's a 5 minute short walk.

The public sightseeing tours on the Susquehanna River typically last for 45 minutes. Special event cruises operate on their own schedule and often last much longer. Depending on the season...you will want to dress appropriately. It is often a little cooler down on the water than what it is on the mainland. Second, sometimes those river mosquitoes can get pretty nasty so I always recommend bringing along a light-weight jacket just in-case you need it.

We've taken two different riverboat cruises and loved it both times! My favorite time to do it is in early Fall when the temperatures are a little cooler and the leaves are starting to change along the river and surrounding mountains. You can really get some gorgeous views while out on the water.
