When planning a visit to Gettysburg, you'll find hundreds of different lodging options within driving distance and/or walking distance of many of the area's attractions. You'll find Bed & Breakfast Inns, Hotels, Motels, Campgrounds, Guest Houses and more. However, if you're truly looking for a relaxing, luxurious and pampering vacation experience, I highly recommend the
Gateway Gettysburg WYNDHAM Hotel.

Recently we had the opportunity to spend some time at the
Gettysburg WYNDHAM and it was a wonderful experience. It sits a little bit out of the downtown business district which is really nice. The property offers guests plenty of free parking and it's situated in a large property complex that also houses the Courtyard Marriott Gettysburg, the Gateway Theater, the Appalachian Brewing Company and their on-site 1863 restaurant. They're perfect for business travelers, romantic weekend getaways, family vacations and corporate events.
When you arrive, you'll be greeted by friendly hotel staff. The front desk had us checked-in quickly and answered any questions that we had. I was immediately impressed that there were no long check-in lines and the lobby area was beautifully decorated. My husband enjoyed checking out the cannon that sits in the lobby along with the other furnishings that greet & await their hotel guests.
The elevator area that you use to get to your guest room is quite impressive. I appreciated that they have 3 elevators, so you never waited more than a minute or two for your ride. Talking about elevators, I'm not particularly fond of them, but these elevators gave you a very smooth ride to and from your room. If your not fond of elevators, trust me, you'll appreciate how smoothly these three run. A big plus in my book!
As you walk through the interior halls you'll be really impressed with the decor and cleanliness. I felt like I was staying in a presidential royalty hotel. All of their furniture and decor is presidential and American styled and that was really pleasing to see. In addition, as you walked through the halls, you didn't see a bunch of luggage carts, housekeeping carts, trash, dinner trays, etc. impeding your way. Very clean, neat and organized.
As we entered our guest room we were immediately impressed with how spaceous it was! We stayed in a guest room with a king-sized bed which was really comfortable and we appreciated the extra pillows. This bed was one of the most comfortable beds that I've ever slept-in in any hotel, motel or resort! It was nice to have a desk in our room where we could hook up to the internet to keep in touch with family & friends. There is a sitting chair should you wish to do some reading or relaxing and we had an in-room coffee maker with complimentary coffee, tea and bottled water.
Like most travelers, I'm extremely picky about the cleanliness of a bathroom. The bathroom in our guest room was immaculate and I mean IMMACULATE! All of our linens were spotless and perfectly folded. There wasn't a speck of dirt, dust, hair or a fuzz ball any where in that bathroom or in our guest room anywhere! I don't think I've ever seen a cleaner, more immaculate room when we traveled.
The WYNDHAM Gettysburg has some fantastic amenities that guests can enjoy. We had the pleasure of enjoying their heated indoor swimming pool, hot tub and their fitness center. Just like our guest room, these areas were immaculately clean too! The two areas are housed close together, but are indeed separated. There are plenty of clean linens and seating for you to enjoy while visiting the pool area and/or the fitness center.
If you're looking for some sweet treats, hot or cold beverages, snacks, a quick sandwich or a super-quick breakfast, you can check out the Getty's Market down near the lobby and elevator area. They are open at various times of the day and we found their prices to be extremely reasonable. We picked up some sweet treats for our grandchildren and enjoyed some tasty snacks & beverages from the Getty's Market during our stay.
Down in the lobby area you'll find several different seating areas that guests can enjoy. You'll find complimentary newspapers, computers, fax machines, printers, etc. in some of these areas. All of the seating is comfortable and its a great place to spend some time and meet some of the other hotel guests who are staying there.
We were very impressed with our stay at the
Gateway Gettysburg WYNDHAM Hotel and will definitely be staying there again when we visit Gettysburg. You check out out the property, get additional information, make reservations, obtain driving directions and educate yourself on the amenities that they offer by visiting their site online.

I was very impressed by your review of this Wyndham hotel. It looks very clean and very nicely furnished, yet it still has elements to remind you of the historical background of the Gettysburg area.
