A few weeks ago we visited the Farmstead Farmer's Market located on 1976 Laudermilch Road in Palmyra Pennsylvania. This farmer's market has been in business for 9 years, but it was our first time visiting it. You'll find that its open year-round on Fridays and Saturdays. They have a large parking lot and we were able to park right beside the building.
This place is made up of two separate buildings and each one has vendors inside it. Between the two buildings you'll find over 20 different vendors. You'll find vendors selling fresh produce, meats, cheeses, seafood, gourmet candy, organic foods, handmade pet treats and pet food, dutch country baked goods, dutch country poultry, a small jewelry boutique, gourmet granola products, Lisa's floral creations, a deli counter, nut & pickle vendor, Sweet Valley Alpaca Shop and a few more.
In the one building they have a small food court with tables and chairs, so you can pick up some lunch, dinner or a snack and eat it there or take it home with you. When we were there, we enjoyed some roasted chicken and bbq chicken wings and I have to admit, both were delicious! If you're a smoothie lover, you can buy some of the best fruit smoothies there too!
While shopping around, I did buy some fresh local produce. I picked up a watermelon, a cantaloupe, fresh peaches and some concord grapes. Oh my gosh, that was some of the best produce that I've had in months, especially the cantaloupe and peaches! Their prices are reasonable and trust me, the produce is a LOT better than what you find in the local grocery store.
From time to time they announce shopping specials right on their website and you can find a map of the property which will tell you where each vendor is located. We found that to be helpful, since we were visiting it for the very first time. On the day we were there, they weren't crowded, so we could really take our time as we walked through the market.
We really enjoyed our visit to the Farmstead Farmers Market in Palmyra Pennsylvania and will definitely be visiting this place again! It's just a short drive from Harrisburg or Hershey and we give it a big 2-thumbs up! Also located on the property is the popular The Nest Antiques & More Shop. You'll definitely want to visit the antique's shop too!
