City of North Wildwood Veterans Park and Memorial
When people head down to Wildwood they often head straight to the beach and don't explore the rest of the island. Don't get me wrong, when people go to the Jersey Shore, they go to play in the sand, surf and sea. However, there is beauty all over the Wildwood island if you take the time to look for it.
For example, when you drive across the bridge and enter the north end of the island you'll enter North Wildwood and the Village of Anglesea. As soon as you're on the island you'll see the City of North Wildwood Veterans Park sitting on the left side of the road.
The park is small, but very pretty. It's sponsored by the local VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars) and is beautifully landscaped with seasonal flowers. Please walk on the paved paths and not across the grass, to help keep the park looking pretty. Furthermore, if you're walking your dog, it's your responsibility to clean up after them.
In the middle of this small park you'll find the V.F.W. Post #5941 Memorial which is dedicated to all veterans, past and present who have courageously served the United State of America. We all honor and appreciate our country's heroes and their families for keeping us safe and for our freedom.
Today we wanted to encourage you to take a few minutes to check out some of the off-the-beaten-path areas at your tourist destination for little parks and veteran memorials like this one. I really enjoy checking them out and I appreciate it when small towns across America celebrate and honor our veterans. Thank you V.F.W. in North Wildwood for this beautiful park!
