The Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire starts on August 3rd and runs through October 27th, 2019. This is a yearly event that is held on the weekends (Saturday and Sunday) and draws thousands of visitors every year. You'll find the event hosted on the grounds of the beautiful Mount Hope Estate.
35 acres are filled with characters dressed in period costumes of royalty, knights and commoners from the 16th century English Shire. You'll have the opportunity to interact with the characters, watch jousting events, magic events, theater shows and more! There are 90+ live shows held daily.
If you're like most people in this world who love a good drink..you'll have the opportunity to try out some Lancaster County wines, local area ciders and craft beers. If you're a food lover you can try out some of the delicious offerings from over 20+ Royal Kitchens.

During the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire you'll see live demonstrations, can participate in several different DIY workshops, enjoy performances throughout the Royal Shire, dining opportunities and you gotta love all of the on-site vendors where you can do some much-needed shopping.
The PA Ren Faire is a family affair and children are welcome! There are special workshops, DIY activities, unique shows and themed events for the kids too! The event can get very busy and crowded, so you'll want to keep your kids nearby. I also recommend that you give each child an emergency contact ID, just in case they get separated from you while there.
You'll want to plan out your visit ahead of time. I recommend checking the weather forecast and dress appropriately for the weather. You'll be doing a lot of walking and standing on your feet, so wear comfortable walking shoes. It can get extremely HOT & HUMID during the month of August with pop-up rain showers & storms...pack an umbrella too!
Head on over to the
Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire website to learn more about the event, to order your tickets online (to save a little money) and to obtain driving directions. You can connect with them on
Facebook and
Instagram too.
