The Race of Gentlemen T.R.O.G. 2019 in Wildwood

The Race of Gentlemen T.R.O.G. 2019 held in Wildwood, New Jersey on October 3rd through the 6th was so much fun! This was our first time attending a T.R.O.G. event and trust me...it won't be our last! If you never attended a race...we highly recommend it.

T.R.O.G. was held out on the beach at Schellenger Avenue and they race no matter what the weather. In other words...rain or shine! You'll have to get out onto the beach to see them race and they do have bleachers set up for you to sit on. You're also welcome to bring along your own beach blankets and chairs.

This years races drew in a large crowd every day that we were there. At times it was hard to find a place to sit but at least the weather cooperated the majority of the time. You'll want to dress appropriately for the weather and I recommend that you wear comfortable walking shoes (or go barefoot on the beach). It's quite the trek out to the water's edge where all of the action occurs.

 Before heading out onto the beach to see some of the races we were able to snap a few photographs of the some of the old cars and bikes lining up along the street. They were lining up to get ready to drive out onto the beach for the event. This allowed a lot of "fans" to get up close with some of the cars and their drivers...which was really cool.

While at the event you can buy all kinds of souvenirs like hats, t-shirts, hoodies, etc. You'll also find several T-shirt stores up on the Wildwood Boardwalk selling them too. My wife and I picked up hoodies & tees while we were there. They have some really cool merchandise that you can buy.

We opted to personally NOT take our camera and cellphones out onto the beach because we didn't want to lose them nor did we want sand ruining them which has happened before. However, you can find all kinds of great racing photos online via a Google search that will show you even more. We hope they'll return to Wildwood so that we can attend the races again. What a great time!!!
