While on a road trip through Chester County, Pennsylvania we passed through West Chester and stumbled upon the Great Minquas Path Historical Marker. It sits at the intersection of Wilmington Pike and Church Avenue...you can carefully pull off to the side of the road to photograph it for your waymarking records. That area can be pretty congested during work hours...so make sure you pull off as far as you can and put your flashers on.
An important Indian trail, key to Pennsylvania's fur trade in the 17th century, crossed the present highway near here. It linked trading posts on the lower Schuylkill and Indian towns to the west. The Dutch, Swedes, and English fought one another for control of path.

There are a few additional historical markers within walking and driving distance of this one if you're doing the Pennsylvania Historical Marker Trail. You can find several of them documented on our blog under our Historical Marker category.
