If you are visiting the Wildwood, Diamond Beach, Stone Harbor, Rio Grande and/or the Cape May area in New Jersey you will want to check out the dining experience at the
Rio Station Restaurant and Bar in Rio Grande. Some people actually consider it to be located in north Cape May but officially it's in Rio Grande, right on the mainland across from the Wildwood island.
Rio Station is a combination restaurant and bar, but it's extremely kid-friendly if you're going in for lunch or an early dinner. On the day that we visited, we went in around 3pm for an early dinner/late lunch and there were ONLY 7 other patrons there. We had no wait time at all, which was really nice. Plus, we got front row parking too!
The menu is quite extensive. They had kid-friendly options like macaroni and cheese, spaghetti, French fries, etc. On the adult's menu you'll find all kinds of dining options ranging from burgers, steaks, wraps, seafood, salads, soups and everything in between. When we dine there, I tend to always order their sweet potato fries and clam chowder which are absolutely delicious!
One of the reasons we enjoying dining at the Rio Station is that it's extremely-clean and the food has always been delicious! From the time they take our order until the time our food arrives onto our table is roughly a 15-20 minute wait...at most! The staff that works there is always helpful and friendly, never a complaint!
If you enjoy drinking alcohol with your meal they do offer various wines, cocktail drinks and beer. Since I was driving, I opted for an iced tea. Which reminds me, I really wish that they would offer a "sweet iced tea" instead of having patrons dump in their own sweetener/sugar which doesn't really dissolve. They do offer a wide array of soft drinks, juice and milk for the kids.
As always, everything during our visit was delicious! Every time we visit the area, we always try to stop into the
Rio Station Restaurant and Bar in Rio Grande, New Jersey.
