Island Breeze Motel Dog Friendly Wall Mural by MG Signs

Island Breeze Motel Dog Friendly Wall Mural by MG Signs

If you've been following the Pennsylvania and Beyond Travel Blog for the past 12+ years you'll already know that we're HUGE fans of outdoor street art and wall murals. Every time we travel we seek them out in every location that we're visiting. It's a great way to see the artwork of local artists and companies.

One of our favorite wall mural companies is MG Signs. Over the past decade we've featured numerous murals painted by them on our blog. Back in June we were on a road trip down to Wildwood in New Jersey and stumbled upon a new work of art being painted.

Island Breeze Motel Dog Friendly Wall Mural by MG Signs

The wall mural is for Island Breeze Motel announcing that they're Dog Friendly. It features a handsome dog wearing red sunglasses propped up on a colorful beach ball. How cute is that? Too cute! The artist from MG Signs was gracious enough to let me photograph him as he was painting it.

From the first photograph in the post to the third photograph in the post about 2 hours had passed. The artist first started out by outlining the design onto the wall. Then he got busy painting it. I was really surprised to see that he only had a couple of cans of paint along with him. They do a lot of blending of colors together to get the perfect shades.

We've always admired outdoor street art like this and were excited to see one being painted while we were down there. These artists are really talented! On the day he was painting it temperatures were over 90 degrees F with high humidity. I can't imagine standing there for hours and hand painting a wall mural in that kind of heat. He did it! Something to be admired for sure!

When traveling take the time to check out some outdoor street art while you're in the area. It's always ncie to discover these pieces and admire them.

Beach Street Art and Wall Murals by MG Signs at the Aloha Oceanfront Motel #AlohaWW

Aloha Oceanfront Motel in North Wildwood, New Jersey Artwork by MG Signs
We've been going down to the Jersey Shore several times a year for the past 30+ years. When it comes to my family's vacation time, we love spending it down at the Jersey Shore. Our favorite coastal towns in New Jersey are Ocean City, Avalon, Stone Harbor, Wildwood and Cape May. Yes, visiting south Jersey is the best in our book!

Every time we go down there we're on the lookout for new street art and outdoor wall murals that we haven't seen before. We are HUGE fans of street art and coastal wall murals and have photographed about 40 different ones located around New Jersey. You can find those posts right HERE on our blog.

If you're looking for the best place to stay in North Wildwood you'll want to check out the Aloha Oceanfront Motel. We've been staying there since September 2000 and love it! The rooms are spacious, modern and extremely clean. You get the best beach and Atlantic Ocean views from your window, their sundeck or when sitting in their coffee shop.
Aloha Oceanfront Motel in North Wildwood, New Jersey Artwork by MG Signs

We're huge fans of beach and coastal street art and outdoor wall murals by MG Signs. We've documented 30+ murals by MG Signs on the blog and on our Pinterest board. They're one of the best companies when it comes to beach and coastal street art.

At the Aloha Oceanfront Motel you'll see two beautiful pieces of their artwork. The first is located around the Aloha signage above their sundeck. It features tropical palm trees which goes perfectly with the motel's name.  You'll find the MG Signs signature located in the bottom right corner.

The second is a wood cut-out that sits downstairs near the game room and pool area. It features a man and woman hanging out on the beach with palm trees and the ocean behind them. Guests can pose for photographs which is a lot of fun! You'll find the MG Signs signature located in the bottom right corner of the piece.

You can double-click on each image to see it in larger detail. What a fun discovery on our last trip down to the Aloha Oceanfront Motel in North Wildwood.

American Safari Wall Mural Street Art in Wildwood Crest

American Safari Motel in Wildwood Crest, New Jersey
We've been going down to the Jersey Shore several times a year for the past 30+ years. When it comes to my family's vacation time, we love spending it down at the shore.

We are HUGE fans of street art and coastal wall murals and have photographed & visited about 30 different ones located around New Jersey. You can find those posts right HERE on our blog and make sure you check out our Street Art & Wall Murals Pinterest board.
American Safari Motel Wall Mural in Wildwood Crest, New Jersey

While on a recent trip down to the south Jersey Shore, Wildwood in particular...we spotted this wall mural on the side of the building of the American Safari Motel. If you're unfamiliar with the area, you'll find the American Safari Motel located on Ocean Avenue in Wildwood Crest. It sits one block from the beach and two blocks from the famous Wildwoods Boardwalk.

The design features a safari them with a tiger, giraffe, zebra and a gorilla. The wall mural was painted by MG Signs who does a LOT of the wall murals & street art projects down at the Jersey Shore. This one really sticks out because a lot of the different wall murals that we see down there are beach and ocean related. As you can clearly see...this one is a mix between an African Safari and Tropical Jungle in its design.

Over the years we've photographed and documented a lot of these wall murals that were painted by MG Signs and invite you to check them out right here on our blog and our Pinterest board. MG Signs does some of the best outdoor wall murals at the Jersey Shore...at least in our opinion.

Beautiful Street Art, Wall Murals and Graffiti in Wildwood

Street Art, Wall Murals and Graffiti in Wildwood New Jersey
We're huge fans of outdoor wall murals, street art and graffiti, so every time we travel to a new destination we try to find it. We're particular fans of outdoor wall murals in a coastal and beach theme, particularly by the artists Wyland and David Dunleavy. You'll find many of their wall murals documented right here on our travel blog.

Wildwood in New Jersey has a lot of artistic street art designs that you'll see painted on the sides of hotel/motel buildings, on the walls of restaurants, murals up on the boardwalk and I love all of the different designs that you now see while sitting at a stoplight on those electrical traffic light boxes.
Bill Haley and his Comets Doo Wop Musical Icons Wall Mural in Wildwood New Jersey

While driving around on the Wildwoods island (yes, it's a barrier island) in New Jersey, we spotted the artistic designs that we're featuring in our blog post today. These are just a small sampling of what you'll find when visiting the island. You can find a ton of them documented in our wall murals & street art section right here on the blog.

The Bill Haley and his Comets wall mural is part of the Doo Wop Musical Icons Series and it's number 2 out of 3 that I'm aware of. You can find it on the side of a building on Pacific Avenue, one of the main avenues that runs north to south on the island. If you're into street art, I recommend starting on Pacific avenue on the north end and taking it south...you'll see a lot of great pieces!
Beach Life Wall Mural in North Wildwood New Jersey

Up in North Wildwood we found this Beach Life Wall Mural painted on the side of a small motel that sits within the beach block area. I'm not sure of it's official title but it was painted by MG Signs who does a lot of the murals up and down the Jersey Coast. This one reminds me of vacation memories from my childhood when my brother and I would spend hours on the beach every summer playing in the sand and building sandcastles.
Sealife Wall Mural in Wildwood New Jersey - By Artist David Dunleavy

The boardwalk has some great wall murals too! This one which features underwater sealife was painted by one of my favorite artists...David Dunleavy. You'll find it painted on the side of the Fudge Kitchen's building up on the boardwalk. It sits on a corner, so make sure you walk around to the side of the building to see it.
American Safari Wall Mural in Wildwood New Jersey by MG Signs

On Pacific Avenue you'll find the American Safari Motel and on the side of their building you'll find this fun American Safari Wall Mural. I think it really sticks out due to the fact that it isn't beach, ocean or island themed. It was painted by MG Signs and while it's pretty...it just sticks out like a sore thumb. Just my 2 cents on that.
Sightseer Tram Car Street Art in Wildwood - New Jersey

As you're driving around on the downtown streets and through the business district in Wildwood you'll come across those electrical traffic light boxes that I previously spoke about. Forgive me, I'm not sure what you officially call those boxes! Anyway, you'll find them at the various intersections and each one is done in a different theme and all of the designs pertain to the Wildwoods Island, the Beach and/or the famous Wildwoods Boardwalk. They're colorful and very artistic in nature. I really enjoy seeing them!
Love by the Moon Street Art in Wildwood - New Jersey

The Sightseer Tram Car design was located up by the Convention Center by those famous Wildwood Beach Balls, across from the StarLux Mini Golf Course. The Sighseer Tram Car is an icon on the island! The Love by the Moon design was located down at an intersection in the downtown business district. I believe we saw it on or around Rio Grande Avenue. The Greater Wildwoods Tourism Improvement and Development Authority (GWTIDA) sponsored these particular designs and the others that you'll find.

As you can see...Wildwood is a great place to visit if you enjoy seeing outdoor wall murals, street art and artistic graffiti. You'll find gorgeous designs all over the entire island...so the next time your down to the Jersey Shore for a visit...spend an hour driving around and checking out all of the beautiful designs.

Beautiful Coastal Street Art in Wildwood New Jersey

Live By The Sun Mural Street Art in Wildwood, New Jersey

Driving around the Wildwood island you'll find hundreds, if not thousnds examples of street art. The majority of it was made by local artists and companies. Every year you see new additions being added. From the north end of the island to the south end of the island you can discover something beautiful to see.

The Live By The Sun mural was painted on a downtown utility box that sits at an intersection. You'll find several painted utility boxes on Rio Grande and Pacific Avenues. It's sponsored by the Greater Wildwood Tourism Improvement & Development Authority. All of the ones sponsored by GWTIDA are beach and Wildwood themed.

Wall Mural Street Art in Wildwood, New Jersey

While driving around we stumbled upon another utility box sponsored by someone else. We couldn't find a signature or date on this one. It features a blue sky, white clouds and seagulls flying around. That motif is depicted on all sides of the utility box. Not as pretty as the first one but definitely colorful.

Wall Mural Street Art in Wildwood, New Jersey

On the west side of the island at the canal area we found a beautiful wall mural by MG Signs. MG Signs happens to be one of our favorite outdoor wall mural companies! We've documented tons of their murals on our blog and Pinterest board. Gorgeous artwork for sure!

Wall Mural Street Art in Wildwood, New Jersey

MG Signs fans will love the new Island Breeze advertising mural located up in North Wildwood. It was painted in 2022. It's painted on a little "out building" about 1 block back from the boardwalk. It's advertising the Island Breeze Motel being dog friendly. Very colorful and nicely done.

Wildwood by the Sea Neon Sign

Finally we wanted to show you a Doo Wop style Neon Sign located on the island once you come onto the island from the main bridge from Rio Grande. It's right before the new McDonald's fast food restaurant if you're looking for it. It's been an icon on the Wildwood island for decades!

The Joe Stamile Amphitheater Wall Mural in Wildwood

Joe Stamile Amphitheater Wall Mural in Wildwood New Jersey

We enjoy checking out outdoor street art, wall murals, and sculptures when we travel. It's always fun to discover new artists (most are local to the particular area) and to see something new. More and more towns and cities across America are getting into this form of artistic expression to beautiful otherwise drab outdoor spaces.

While on a trip down to Wildwood in New Jersey we stumbled upon the Joe Stamile Amphitheater Wall Mural by MG Signs (one of our favorite mural companies) on the back of the Doo Wop Museum building. The back of the building has a little performance stage and is attached to a park...hence the Joe Stamile Amphitheater name.

Joe Stamile Amphitheater Wall Mural in Wildwood New Jersey

The wall mural depicts the names of various old retail establishments that were part of the Wildwood scene. You'll see the Penalty Box, Hotel Hofbrau, Club Esquire, Lincoln, Blue Heaven, Shamrock, Stardust, Riptide, Hurrican, Martinique, Gingham Club, Lucky Club Cafe, Savoy, Emerald, Elmira Cafe, Surf Club, etc.

It's quite large in size with the majority of it done in beautiful bright colors and a small portion done in black and white. The MG Signs signature is on the bottom right of the wall mural. You can find a ton of MG Signs Wall Murals depicted and documented on our travel blog.

Joe Stamile Amphitheater Wall Mural in Wildwood New Jersey

On the day that we were there...the weather was terrible! Downpouring rain, winds clocking in at 30-40 mph...so our photographs aren't the best. We'll be getting new ones when we're back down for vacation later this year. It's a must-see muralif you're going to be in the area.

If you're unfamiliar with the area you'll find the resort located on Lavender Road in Wildwood Crest. It sits about 1 1/2 blocks from the beach and 2 blocks from the world famous Wildwoods Boardwalk.

Like a lot of the outdoor wall murals that you find down in this area this one is done by MG Signs, you'll find the signature in the bottom right corner. Matter of fact, I've counted at least a dozen of MG Signs wall murals on the island over the past few years and documented many of them right here on our travel blog. This one really stands out because most of the wall murals that I've seen in the area are beach, ocean or tropical theme. This one...completely stands out and reminds me of something I would see out west.

Gondolier Wall Mural Street Art in Wildwood

Gondolier Wall Mural Street Art in Wildwood New Jersey
When we travel we like to search out outdoor wall murals and various forms of street art, especially here on the east coast. Over the years we've discovered some amazing artists like David Dunleavy, Wyland and several others.

While on a trip down to Wildwood and Wildwood Crest in New Jersey, we stumbled upon the Gondolier Motel at 5701 Ocean Avenue in Wildwood. No, we didn't stay here, but while walking by their motel we spotted an amazing wall mural that you just have to see!

The Gondolier Wall Mural appears to have been painted on cement and is featured on one of the motel's exterior walls. It's quite large in size and is extremely colorful, so you can't miss it when passing by. In the lower right corner you'll find the artist's signature MG SIGNS.
Gondolier Wall Mural Street Art in Wildwood New Jersey

The scene depicts a docked Gondolier sitting on the beautiful blue water. The predominant colors are various shades of blue, red, beige, white, black and then a few different accent colors. The perfect wall mural to go along with the Gondolier Motel.

Other than that, I really don't have any information on this wall mural other than what's stated above. I believe it might be the first one that we've ever seen by MG Signs, but I'm not positive about that. You can find other wall murals and street art features that we've documented over the years, right here on our travel blog.

We Will Never Forget Wall Mural in North Wildwood New Jersey
If you've been following our travel blog for awhile now, you'll already know that we love checking out outdoor wall murals and street art when we travel. We've featured quite a few here on our blog and today, we are sharing another one that we found down in North Wildwood New Jersey.

Shame on me for NOT catching the name of the building that this was painted on, but I absolutely love this wall mural for it's meaning! It is definitely fading from the sunshine and saltwater and I hope one day they consider preserving it for future generations to see.
We Will Never Forget Wall Mural in North Wildwood New Jersey

This street art is painted on the side of a large building on the main drag running through North Wildwood in New Jersey. The next time we go down, I will get the exact name of the building and street that it's on, sorry I didn't catch that this time around. It's quite large and I had a hard time getting the entire mural in one photo, so I took 2 different shots.

If you are reading this blog and can offer up any information on this gorgeous piece of street art, please leave me a comment here on the blog or email me through my contact form.
We Will Never Forget Military Heroes Street Art in North Wildwood, New Jersey

Update: The wall mural was replaced with a new one in 2019. The new one is shown in the photograph above and honors all four branches of the United States military: Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marines. It's painted on the side of the Elk Lodge building in North Wildwood, New Jersey. It was painted by MG Signs, who's one of the most popular wall mural companies in the area. Beautiful.

Cool Scoops Ice Cream Parlor in Wildwood

Cool Scoops Ice Cream Parlor in Wildwood, New Jersey
Three years ago we stumbled upon the Cool Scoops Ice Cream Parlor in Wildwood, New Jersey and it has quickly become our favorite ice cream shop at the Jersey Shore. They have some of the best ice cream cones, sundaes, milkshakes and banana splits in the entire state! They were featured on the Travel Channel a few years ago as a place to visit.

As soon as you pull into the parking lot you'll see that this ain't no ordinary ice cream parlor. It is totally decked out in a 1950's theme inside and out! If you would like to see some photographs of the inside and learn more about the type's of items that they serve, I invite you to read our previous feature on Cool Scoops right here on our travel blog.
Cool Scoops Ice Cream Parlor in Wildwood, New Jersey

Today we wanted to highlight them again, but this time we're focusing on their beautiful wall murals that are painted on the outside walls of their buildings. The wall murals were painted by MG Signs, a New Jersey company that has done hundreds of outdoor wall murals up and down the coast. We've documented many of their wall murals over the years and you can find some of them on the blog by visiting our Street Art section.

The wall murals are done in a 1950's theme which we just love! The waitresses are wearing roller skates with the guys wearing saddle shoes! The type of scenes you would see when you would of pulled into a 1950's drive-in restaurant. The artistic murals coordinate with their inside decor and the color scheme is typical of what you would of seen during the 1950's.

We Will Never Forget Military Heroes Street Art - Wall Mural

We Will Never Forget Military Heroes Street Art in North Wildwood, New Jersey
If you've been following our travel blog for awhile now, you'll already know that we love checking out outdoor wall murals and street art when we travel. We've featured quite a few here on our blog and today, we are sharing another one that we found down in North Wildwood New Jersey.

This beautiful "We Will Never Forget" wall mural is painted on the side of the Elks Lodge Building which sits on the main drag through North Wildwood, New Jersey. The mural takes up the entire side of the building. For many years there was a different mural on the building which had faded and needed to be repaired. Instead of repairing it, they had a new mural painted.
We Will Never Forget Military Heroes Street Art in North Wildwood, New Jersey

The design honors 4 different branches of the military: Army, Navy, Air Force, and the Marines. The colors are bright and I love the red, white, and blue American Flag. In the center you'll see our nation's symbol...the American Bald Eagle in all of his glory!

We all need to remember and honor our service men and women. We can NEVER FORGET their service and what they've done for our country. It's a stunning piece of street art and if you're going to be in the area...I recommend you take a few minutes out of your day to stop by and see it.
We Will Never Forget Military Heroes Street Art in North Wildwood, New Jersey

Wildwood has a lot of street art and wall murals featured on the front, sides, and backs of various buildings on the island. The majority of them are beach theme'd, so this military one really stands out. It's a nice reminder that we can never forget our heroes and that freedom is never really free. The mural was painted by one of my favorite wall mural companies, MG Signs. A beautiful piece of street art.

Feel free to stroll around the place at your leisure.

This ice cream parlor can get very busy during the busy tourist season and at times...lines do form. I suggest visiting Cool Scoops during their off-peak hours. We visited around 7 PM one evening and were one of four patrons in the entire place. Sweet!!! We've also visited early in the afternoon which also seemed to be a good time too.

My husband got a mint chocolate chip ice cream cone, my granddaughter got rainbow sherbet in a dish with a cone and candies on top, I got a delicious banana ice cream cone and my mother got a peach sherbet. Everything was fresh and yummy! A few days later we went back to Cool Scoops and indulged in banana splits. Equally as delicious!
